C.J. Graham was not the person who played Jason at the beginning of the sixth film, he had taken up the role to replace the guy who the producers didn't like. Tom McLoughlin, the director talked about how easy C.J. was to work with, as its not an easy job playing Jason in the films.
As someone who has portrayed Jason Voorhees in a film, (OK, it was a fan film) I can assure you that its very much true. I member going out to do a day of shooting my fan film, I got up in the morning (after working all night) getting into my car and driving all the way back to where I worked, and then filming a scene as Jason Voorhees.
I had planned on spending an entire day filming scenes for my fan film. I put on the costume that I had put together, set the camera up (a crappy digital camera) and then climbed a small hill.
Of course, I had to start the camera before doing so, as I was making the fan film by myself. Well, after a mere 5 minutes in the Jason costume, under the mid-morning Florida sun, every ounce of energy was suddenly drained from my body. I barely had the energy to climb back down the hill.
Needless to say, that was enough for me. After all that preparation......5 minutes..........out.
