1. The guy who did the 3D special effects stated that he was the one who suggested using the Hockey mask in Friday the 13th part 3, as a way to solve some technical problems with the 3D effects.
2. Steve Dash stated that the tape used to hold the pillow case over his head left painful burn marks over his eye. Which meant that they had to come up with another solution for the next film, hence the Hockey mask idea.
3. Richard Brooker said that the producers of part 3 were Hockey fans and that it was their idea too use the Hockey mask instead of the sack.
